our story

Mile 22 started in a basement during the pandemic.

Curiosity became a family project, learning to roast, tasting fresh brews together, pushing one another, failing, improving. It brought us closer than we expected.

What began as a simple idea in 2020 “let’s roast coffee we love” turned into a full-time journey. We took inspiration from our roots in Seattle, where freshly roasted coffee shapes everyday life, and started recreating the flavors we remembered so vividly.

Along the way, we found more than great coffee. We found out who we are as a family. determined, stubborn in the best way, and stronger together.

Today, we’ve grown into a storefront in Black Creek, a roastery in Clintonville, and shelves in local shops all around the area. And our mission is bigger now: create authentic coffee, and build real community — one cup at a time.
